The chilly weather and adequate monsoon makes it possible for the flowers to have a long flowering season. The Rose Garden is thronged by thousands of tourists year after year. Definitely one of the "must see" places in Ooty, it was initially started to commemorate the centenary Flower Show at the Botanical Gardens.
Maintained by the Government of Tamil Nadu, the garden is arranged into five curving terraces covering four hectares. If you are a photography enthusiast, the place is a visual treat with the flowers arranged in different forms and shapes to capture your imagination.

Entry Fee and Timings of Ooty Rose Garden
The entry fee to visit Government Rose Garden in Ooty is INR 30 for adults and INR 15 for children. To carry a still camera, you have to pay an additional fee of INR 50 and to carry a video camera, the ticket price is INR 100.
You can visit Ooty Rose Garden from 7:30 in the morning to 6:30 in the evening on all days of the week.
Best Time to visit Ooty Rose Garden
The best time to visit the Ooty Rose Garden is between March and June when the flowers are in full bloom. The Flower Show is also usually held around the same time in May. Those who wish to avoid the crowds in summer, can visit the rose garden between November and February, however, they may find only a few roses as it is not the blooming season for them.
